Volunteering
Volunteers at Westview Hospital enjoy the satisfaction of knowing their help makes an important difference in the lives of others.
Westview depends on volunteers for a number of day-to-day tasks that help our patients and their families have a positive experience during their hospital stay. Volunteer assignments and schedules are many and varied, depending upon the individual volunteer’s time availability, interests and skills:
- Information Desk – greeting and guiding visitors and patients
- Nursing support – visiting patients to provide companionship and comfort, stocking supplies, patient wheelchair transportation, hospitality cart
- Clerical support – filing, phones, photo copying, data entry, process accounts
- Gift Shop – assisting customers with purchases, maintaining merchandise inventory
Service Learning experiences and shadowing are available for high school and college students (minimum age of 16 years):
- Imaging Services
- Rehab
- Pre-med
- Pre-nursing
- Pharmacy
Volunteerism is a win-win for the hospital, our patients, visitors, and the volunteers. Westview counts on its volunteer corps to help provide personalized care in a warm, friendly and caring environment. In turn, volunteers enjoy making new friends and knowing they are needed and valued.
Westview volunteers represent all age groups, but they share a love of helping others. If you are dependable and enjoy keeping busy, Westview Hospital can use your time and talents in an area of interest to you.
Volunteers who give at least four hours of service at a time receive a free cafeteria meal. Parking is close and free, uniforms are provided.
