Westview Healthplex Sports Club

New Youth Fitness Programs
Indianapolis, IN - Jan. 24, 2008

Westview Healthplex Sports Club offers several interactive fitness classes to keep you feeling healthy - but not just for adults.  Starting in January, new youth classes will be offered for various age groups and levels.

Fantastic Fitness and Fun - designed for children ages 6 to 12. This program will introduce kids to a variety of activities including, but not limited to sports, cardio training and core strength training.

When: Mondays through Thursdays, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. or 7:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00-10:00 a.m. or 10:00-11:00 a.m.  Pre-registration is required.

Drums Alive - less strenuous exercises designed for children ages 7 to 10.  This program can only be described as fun!  Everyone has their own inner rhythm, and only leads to better self-worth and to further their cognitive skills.

When: Tuesday, 7:30 to 8:15 p.m.

Zumba for Kids (ages 7 To 12,) Hip-Hop Dance One (ages 7 To 10) and Hip-Hop Dance Two (ages 11-12) - high-energy classes, are geared towards getting kids active and involved.

When: Hip Hop Dance One - Monday - 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Zumba For Kids - Wednesday - 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Hip Hop Dance Two - Wednesday - 7:30-8:30 p.m.

NEVER TOO YOUNG TO RENEW YOUR HEALTH

Not all children are old enough to enjoy, or even be involved in dance, or fitness classes, so the sports club has created classes for babies and toddlers too.  Basic tumbling, which works on motor skills and balancing, is offered for children ages 3-7.  For the older group, basic beam and bar skills will be incorporated into the class.  Babies needing some activity can enroll in Baby and Me, a class designed to incorporate interactive and fun games, with parent participation of course!

Baby and Me (12-24 months) - Monday - 9:30-10:00 a.m.

Tumbling Tots (3-5 years) - Monday - 10:00-10:45 a.m., Wednesday - 6:30-7:15 a.m.

Topsy-Turvy Tumbling (4-7 years) - Tuesday - 6:30-7:30 a.m., Thursday - 9:30-10:30 a.m.

If a structured class isn't a good fit, Westview Healthplex Sports Club also offers toddler and elementary basketball leagues, with one practice and one game per week.  No score will be kept, and the leagues may or may not be co-ed depending on registration.  Come and join the fun!
